Real Estate & Construction breakfast Q3
The British Polish Chamber of Commerce invites its members to the Q3 real estate and construction breakfast, to look at the shape of the sector in the wake of Covid-19.
The British Polish Chamber of Commerce invites its members to the Q3 real estate and construction breakfast, to look at the shape of the sector in the wake of Covid-19.
The event will be held online, with our expert panel gathered in Warsaw's Q22 building to present their expert outlook on the market, answer your questions - and listen to your experiences from across the sector.
How has the pandemic affected construction? How is the real-estate sector coping? Are we still seeing new investors from abroad looking at projects in Poland? What's happening to vacancies and yields in this new business environment?
How has working from home affected demand for office space? How has the sudden surge in ecommerce affected logistics and demand for warehouse space? How are hotels dealing with the long-term prospects for business travel and tourism?
What about input costs - materials and labour? How has Covid affected public-sector infrastructure projects?
The first Construction and Real Estate Breakfast after lockdown is looking for answers.
The aim is to join the expert speakers online, to talk openly and listen and gain insights that only come when a group of investors, developers, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects and real estate advisors get together. As usual, the Chatham House rule will apply - namely, you can say what was said at the meeting, but you're not allowed to say who said it. This formula encourages a frank exchange of experience that will be helpful to all participants.

09:30 - 09:40 Introduction and welcome - Michael Dembinski, the BPCC's chief advisor, sets the scene for the meeting.

Developing the potential of Poland’s post-industrial land
The BPCC's Real Estate and Construction Policy Group met online on 22 June 2021 to discuss brownfield development – the remediation of land that had previously been used for industrial purposes. Given that most Polish cities have large swathes of such land, brownfield sites offer investors excellent locations, though cleaning up contamination is a challenge. The meeting considered the solutions involved in remediating and developing brownfield sites, showing on the basis of several case studies the benefits of such solutions.
