Influence business through Brussels
Given the current geopolitical instability, and the economic consequences generated by Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, it's increasingly vital that business understands the interface with Brussels, the way that the EU's institutions work – and how that affects the business environment across Europe. Brussels is all too often seen as a remote body that creates regulations over which business has little say. And yet the people that govern the EU – MEPs, commissioners, administrators, regulators – are open, willing to listen and take on board the concerns of business. But to whom should business be talking? How does the legislative process look – and when is the right time for business to get involved? What arguments are most persuasive?
The BPCC, through its member firm FairValue Corporate & Public Affairs, is organising a brief, focused, visit to Brussels with the aim of enhancing your understanding of how it works as well as providing added-value and longer-term benefits to your business practices. You'll get a good idea of what you can – and what you can't – realistically expect to achieve – and you'll learn the best ways of anticipating regulatory change and making your voice heard in Brussels, which is now, more than ever, something that can no longer be disregarded.
You will meet Polish MEPs, commissioners, permanent representatives, and members of the Economic and Social Committee, and see the EU machinery in action.
This visit is aimed at CEOs, public affairs/government affairs directors, professional organisations, and anyone with a keen interest in the interface between government and business.
Arriving in Brussels on the evening of Tuesday 25th and departing on the morning of Thursday 27 October, there will be time to meet key players from Poland, and see how Brussels really works.
