Every year, the Polish state allocates nearly €45 billion for purchases through public procurement. We expect the Polish public sector to maintain and even increase its spending levels in the coming years. Contracting authorities will be spending significant sums of money in the IT, infrastructure and energy sectors to rebuild the economy after the pandemic, and also to digitalise and decarbonise it.

Bird & Bird lawyers from the Warsaw office provided pro bono legal assistance to the "Buy My Cancer" project created by the Alivia Cancer Foundation in Poland. The project is an innovative model allowing the foundation to raise money for charitable purposes via Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT). The money raised will fund the costly treatment of patients with malignant tumours, who remain under the care of the Alivia Cancer Foundation, and in particular will cover the cost of treatment methods that are not reimbursed in Poland.
