Bird & Bird lawyers from the Warsaw office provided pro bono legal assistance to the "Buy My Cancer" project created by the Alivia Cancer Foundation in Poland. The project is an innovative model allowing the foundation to raise money for charitable purposes via Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT). The money raised will fund the costly treatment of patients with malignant tumours, who remain under the care of the Alivia Cancer Foundation, and in particular will cover the cost of treatment methods that are not reimbursed in Poland.
