Poland's growth in 2018: Maintaining balance?
A CEO-level breakfast to discuss the prospects for the Polish economy this year.
Though the consensus of forecasts point to another year of solid growth, there are many voices suggesting that Poland's economy is not as well balanced as it has been. While industrial production remains strong, there is a weakness in investment due to poor take-up of EU funds for infrastructure projects. And consumer spending, driven in part by social transfers, may be at an unsustainable level. Will inflationary pressures force the NBP to respond with increased base rates? This meeting will open with brief overviews of the macroeconomic year ahead in Poland, from BPCC’s Patrons and key investors, and will also reflect global macroeconomic insights gathered at Davos. There will be ample opportunity to exchange views with the speakers and to discuss specific factors affecting different business sectors. Changes in taxation and new regulations, the HR market, input prices and consumer sentiment will be covered, as will prospects for investment, both private and public sector. |
