Useful 'soft skills' for business
A BPCC workshop focusing the social side of doing business took place at the headquarters of Credit Suisse in Wrocław on 28 November 2017.
The training session was conducted in English by an expert representing the Berlitz language school, and aimed at everyone, who wants to be perceived as a professional and pleasant person in the world of business.
The participants had the opportunity to gain the practical knowledge necessary for recognising the usefulness of social English in business, and how it impacts on personal image and performance. During the course of discussion, invited guests debated on possible ways of starting the small talk and socialising in a natural way, including steering off and switching between topics in order to maintain natural flow of the conversation and avoid awkwardness. Piotr Sarzynski, an experienced Berlitz tutor, described how to politely and effectively ask for a business favour and decline one without offending anyone. He also pointed out that leaving in a polite way can make strong and positive last impression.
Through the workshop, participants learned about practical tools useful in developing positive.
