Time to Report! Facts'n'Fun Silver Jubilee Business Briefing

On 9 March 2017, the BPCC held its annual UK-Poland trade and investment briefing, which this year took the form of an evening mixer, so that members could enjoy some networking over canapés and wine after learning about the latest developments in bilateral economic relations.

The event took place in the conference room downstairs from the BPCC’s offices, on the fifth floor of Zielna 37.

Members also had the chance to get to know two reports that the BPCC has recently published: Doing Business in Poland, jointly with the Institute of Export, and FDI’s Impact on the Polish economy, produced with the other members of the International Group of Chambers of Commerce in Poland. The Doing Business in Poland guide was launched in January at the Polish Embassy in London in the presence of the Polish ambassador, while the FDI’s Impact on the Polish economy report was launched at the Ministry of Economic Development on 1 March.

BPCC chairman Antoni Reczek welcomed members, and reported back from the high-level British-Polish  Belvedere Forum, created by HMA Jonathan Knott to ensure a dialogue between the two nations in the run-up to Brexit. Michael Dembinski, the BPCC’s chief advisor, presented the top-line bilateral trade results and talked about investment between the two countries. Russell Towlson, director of BPCC Trade presented the Doing Business in Poland guide, and introduced the Trade Team, explaining how it can help UK exporters find new markets in Poland.

The formal part of the evening over, members had ample time to network and swap business cards.
