Learning Polish helps with retaining your staff, expat managers told
On 17 November 2017, a BPCC workshop took place at the headquarters of YouEnglish/YouPolish at SkyTower in Wrocław.
The training session was aimed at expats who want to work better in Poland, with a focus on improving their soft skills and winning the loyalty of their teams through culturally appropriate management.
During the seminar, experts elaborated on how cultural differences can impact international business. Ilona Chodorowska, regional director at the British Polish Chamber of Commerce, during the course of her presentation pointed out how to avoid cultural traps in business, and what hidden meanings are encrypted in language and communication.
Monika Majerska, YouEnglish / YouPolish owner, and Fabienne Constantin, owner of YouPolish, described in which way could speaking Polish be also considered a soft skill, and why is speaking Polish increasingly more important for foreign managers who work in Poland. They outlined the solution for the lack of motivation in learning Polish – described how can it be done while also having fun. Addressing current issues, experts presented the highly effective way to motivate and retain employees in a very tight labour market – by offering language courses and language travel.During the meeting, guests were treated to Meli Melum – Wrocław-made cider with style, proudly presented by Exclusive World.
