The first speaker was Michał Kluska, associate at Domański Zakrzewski Palinka. During his presentation, he outlined the most important legal aspects of GDPR, and made an introduction to the implementation processes, and what this meant to firms.

Waldemar Gełzakowski, auditor, consultant and trainer of management systems at BSI Group Polska, as the second expert commented on the significance of ISO standards in the amended personal data protection act. His presentation focused on those best practices that can support organisations in meeting not only the legal requirements set out in the GDPR, but also the wider requirements for security and privacy of information.

The following speaker, Michał Cherek, cloud architect at Comparex Poland, shared his knowledge about the implementation of GDPR from the IT perspective. He advised how to approach the regulation from the technological side, explaining what tools and methods are useful in meeting the legal requirements. He focused on the role of modern technology in new regulatory frameworks for safe storage and processing of data, outlining effective ways of adapting to regulatory change and ensuring information security and data-processing continuity.

The workshop ended with Michał Kluska summing up the meeting by exploding the biggest myths currently circulating about the regulations, warning listeners about the traps while also explaining how to avoid them. He pointed out that the implementation of GDPR can serve as a great opportunity for companies to eliminate existing dysfunctions, improving internal and external communication, and reducing legal, business and reputational risks.
