Klöckner Pentaplast Food & Consumer Products (kp FCP) division in Poland

Header kp

Combining decades of packaging expertise with a sound knowledge of the Central and Eastern European market, Klöckner Pentaplast Food & Consumer Products (kp FCP) delivers total pack solutions to the protein and food-service sectors across the region.

Working with packers and food processors, kp FCP develops and manufactures a wide range of tray and complementary flexible and rigid films, as well as bespoke packaging solutions to suit exacting customer needs.

Operating across two sites in Poland, Brzeg Dolny in the south-west of Poland (manufacturing), and in the capital, Warsaw (sales), kp FCP employs almost 300 people in the country. The former LINPAC sites were acquired by Klöckner Pentaplast Group (kp) as part of the group’s acquisition of the UK headquartered business in 2017. The deal enabled kp to extend its footprint in delivering packaging solutions to a range of markets around the world whilst adding value for customers in terms of product offering and service.

The company manufactures EPS and PET products for its key markets in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, the Balkans and Baltics and parts of Western Europe.

Products developed by kp FCP in Poland include the pioneering LINstar® Plus EPS tray for meat and fish. It is the most efficient, absorbent tray available to the market, incorporating a built-in patented high capacity absorbent core to draw meat juices from view and help to prevent pack leaks.

Other innovations manufactured in Poland include a PET pizza tray for Hilton Foods, sushi wrap trays for SushiFactory, a casserole tray for Virtu and printed top lidding films for major retailers in Poland.

For the foodservice and fast food markets, kp FCP has a portfolio of HOTpac® EPS solutions, designed to keep a wide range of food-on-the-go warm and tasty.

Historically, EPS has served both the foodservice and protein markets well in the CEE region. However, there has been a distinct move in the past five years towards PET and rPET by meat processors and packers throughout Europe. To support this trend, a new Irwin production line has been commercialised in September this year (2018) at Brzeg Dolny and there are plans for further machine investment at the site in 2019. In addition, a new warehouse is planned to be built on site next year.

The company prides itself on its customer service; working in partnership with customers to develop new and innovative solutions that are technically efficient, environmentally-friendly and meet the needs of consumers.

A skilled and knowledgeable technical support team is able to advise customers on the best packs for their lines and end-products to ensure brands, retailers and food manufacturers see superior pack performance.
