New system of tax incentives for investments in Poland and Special Economic Zones

On April 5th, the British Polish Chamber of Commerce, Dentons and Industrial Development Agency organized a meeting devoted to the system of tax incentives for investments in Poland.

In the first part Piotr Rycko - Advisor to the Entrepreneur at ARP SA, discussed the support instruments offered to investors by the Industrial Development Agency.Next, dr Michał Bernat, legal adviser at the office of Dentons in Warsaw, discussed new rules for granting investment aid, basic principles of the new system and the most important differences compared to the current SEZ system, as well as requirements for new investors, scope and intensity of assistance, conditions for obtaining support decisions, the method of accounting for aid under the new rules, the situation of investors operating on the basis of existing zone permits. After a short break, dr Bernat expanded on  the issues outlined during the first session, with particular emphasis on the terms and conditions for calculating available assistance, quality criteria and possible scoring for new projects as well as organizational and financial issues related to applying for help under the new rules. The meeting ended with a question and answer session, and those willing could stay longer at individual meetings with experts.
