We contact Polish distributors directly to identify demand for British products and services in Poland and post the trade opportunity on the new 'Exporting is GREAT' website. It is a quick and efficient way of connecting businesses from both countries.
Exporting is GREAT programme is a chance for UK companies to source potential partners on foreign markets. The idea is that you “match” supply from the UK with a “demand” from, in our case, Polish market based companies. The programme has kicked off over a year ago and it has definitely been a learning curve for BPCC Trade but we are happy to share some very successful examples with you all.
BPCC Trade team is looking for Polish companies interested in importing in order to find best Export Opportunities for the UK companies. The process starts with selecting companies interested in participating in the initiative and contacting them via a direct phone call. The company points out a specific product or service that they want to import from the UK. On this basis, I create a post for the Exporting is GREAT website where British companies may apply for a particular opportunity. Each response is carefully analysed to be matched with a Polish company; passing Polish contact details is a start of an export journey.
It is fair to say that the process is very time consuming so it is a real pleasure when we can see first-hand that it gives us the results we were hoping for.
Recently, we have noted 3 ‘Export Wins’ for 3 British companies.
The first one is East of England company who found its perfect match with Polish company based in Leszno from a medical sector. This distributor of new and used medical equipment, ordered medical couches and beds and hopes for a further long-term relationship with its new UK partner.
Another match was made between a company from Ruda Śląska, a Polish producer of meat products, mostly known from its high-quality sausages, and again a company from East of England, who exported frozen pork.
The last but not least is a company from West Midlands, who won its business with Polish company based in Wroclaw and sold its products.
This success has made us even more motivated so please have look at the Export Opportunities we post in our newsletters and on Twitter and feel free to pass them on or get in touch.
